Surprise! I’m pregnant!

Motherhood

Wondering where I’ve been lately? I have been counting down the days to writing and sharing this news.

Zach and I found out very early on that I was pregnant — at exactly the 2 week mark. As excited as we were, I wanted to wait until 6 weeks to tell our families and the 10-week ultrasound before we announced it to the world. But as soon as we had our 10-week ultrasound, I decided I wanted to pushback our pregnancy announcement until our first trimester was over just to be sure everything was still okay. The 13-week mark soon came and I was still not ready to share the news in person, social media or blog. So, I told myself I would share it after 16-weeks. Nope — that moment came and went. And then I thought for sure I would share it during our 18-week milestone, but I wasn’t ready and another week passed.

There was no rhyme or reason for not wanting to share early on, I just never felt ready to announce it to the world and wanted to hold onto my privacy a little bit longer, cherish knowing it was a little secret for just a few weeks more. And in return, I felt as if I wanted my whole life to be private for a few months. I haven’t spent much time on social media, I have not written one blog post and I have created very little. I felt a desire to take a step back and soak in these few moments of early pregnancy with Zach, my family, and close friends.

We knew our 20-week anatomy scan was just around the corner and we would be finding out if the baby was a boy or girl. Our anticipation and excitement for this appointment was through the roof! We waited until we got home to know because we thought it would be a fun and inclusive idea to our family and friends to record a video of us finding out so that they could feel a part of the moment. This also seemed like the perfect moment to finally share it on the blog and social media, too.

Before you watch, comment below if you think it’s a boy or a girl!

We are so overjoyed and excited to know that we will be having a beautiful daughter join us in March 2021! All children are a gift and great reward, so we feel so honored and blessed to be this little girl’s parents. I can’t wait to share more with you as our journey unfolds!

I feel that the “You are enough” message needs to be spread more, and I love that I can do it in a cute way that also shows that I enjoy to embroider.
